Japan has been Westernizing for the last 100 years, especially after WW2.
Why would “so many Western people disagree”?
T_T Westernized, huh? Have you ever been there? Still, each to his own. If you believe the Western culture is superior, go ahead, but don’t state it like its irrefutable fact. Also, Japan isn’t westernized. Its in the process, but its fighting every step of the way because it also wants to cling to its traditional background. Best of both worlds, y’know?

Japan? Hardly. The Japanese are great imitators, but not great innovators. Anyway, Japan is thoroughly Westernized now – so any of its advancements are all made within the context of WESTERN culture.

XD seriously though. economic success, and that shit doesn’t constitute culture. culture as in what you do and what you behave like. in western cultures its not acceptable to be living with your parents after eighteen or so. in eastern cultures, you’re supposed to take care of your parents in their dotage and stick around.
